About

I thought of several names for this site this one however stuck in my head and here we are. My plan for the site is to share my views and opinions on all things cycling related and sometimes things not cycling related. One of my friends suggested using a blog to share my thoughts and opinions on the many cycling products that I own and use. I am gearing up to do a 300K Brevet and thought it would be fun to share some of my training experiences with you. Such as the products I use; clothing, nutrition products, bikes training programs etc. Along with my likes and dislikes of them.

A little about me. My name is Ernest and I own the Crofton Bike Doctor. You can find us on the web at www.croftonbikedoctor.com. I spend most of my time training and riding in Anne Arundel County, MD. I have several bikes. A Look 585 Optima with Record Carbon 10 and a PowerTap (The PowerTap is my new toy this year. I am sure I’ll be sharing my experiences with that over time.), I also have a Seven Axiom that I built up a number of years ago when I took a “break” from the industry. This bike has a quill stem of all things! On the Mountain Bike side of things I have a trek Top Fuel 9.8. One final bike is a Gary Fisher Utopis to ride to the store and around the neighborhood, I also love riding it on the C&O Canal.

I started in the industry in ’89 and fell in love with cycling and retail in general. My first big bike trip experience was a camp as a teenager where we started in Deer Isle, Maine rode to Bar Harbor and took a ferry over to Yarmoth and rode around Novia Scotia and back! What a blast. I have also taken a Trek Travel trip to Bryce, Zion and Boulder Canyon’s in Utah and I can’t wait to go on another one! Of course I have done my fair share of century’s some good and some bad. I am Fit Kit Level 1/2 and 3 Certified. I also have completed Trek Level One certification in bicycle fit. In early January of 2010 I completed Level 2 for Trek. In March of 2010 I Traveled to California and got Certified at the Slow Twitch Fit Institute for triathlon fit/position. Also while there I spent a day with John Cobb taking one of his seminars.

I’ll leave you with that.
